Inquiry Learning

Here at Monash we love inquiry learning as it fosters curiosity in young people about the world around us.

Students share their personal wonderings through asking thoughtful questions during the ‘Tuning In’ phase and as well unpack the essential questions of the unit.

Classes participate in a range of activities to find out about their concept including, excursions, inviting community guest speakers, research, videos and many more.

Students then work collaboratively to understand the knowledge they have gained during the ‘Sorting Out’ phase where they learn how to use graphic organisers and write with authentic purposes.

We give students the opportunity to ‘Go Further’ with their learning by undertaking passion projects the concept being explored has ignited in them. A great example is Year 1/2 working in partnership with the Tuggeranong Hyperdome to make a mosaic which is displayed in our community.
