Communication and Collaboration

Building Positive Partnerships

We recognise families as children’s first and most influential educators. We value the unique insights families have about their children. Open communication and collaboration between staff and families better enables us to ensure our program, under the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), is responsive to individual children’s ideas, knowledge, culture, abilities and interests

Communication

Other forms of communication such as face to face meetings and phone calls are welcome to be arranged. Parents are also welcome to check in with staff before and after preschool sessions with any concerns or to pass on information to staff.

*Please ensure your contact details are always current, particularly phone numbers and email addresses.

Seesaw

seesaw

Seesaw is used to message and communicate with families.  Educators capture learning with photos, voice recording and videos creating a digital portfolio of your child’s preschool journey. Everything gets organised in one place and is accessible to parents from their personal devices. Seesaw provides children with a real audience for their work and offers parents a personalised window into their child’s learning which is great for generating discussion around the dinner table!  The Seesaw App can be downloaded to either the Apple or Android networks. We encourage families to respond and communicate via Seesaw.

Facebook

Our school Facebook page - Monash School - is a great way to keep up to date with important events, student learning, messages and general information for families of students at Monash Primary School.  Please click the 'Like' button on our Facebook page for the latest information.

Our newsletter is emailed out to families each fortnight and contains the Principal's message, together with important future dates, notes that have been sent home, Wellbeing @ Monash and news of learning from each year level. It also contains updates from our Specialists Teachers, P & C news and general community information.

Children’s work and physical notes are placed Home Pockets located outside each classroom with your child’s name on it. Please check them regularly.

Monash P&C

The P&C is a fun and friendly way to connect and build relationships with other parents and carers at Monash School.

Our meetings are held twice a school term (Week 3 and 8) where we discuss our current and future activities, learn about what is happening in this great school of ours and network.

We support the school in a variety of ways throughout the school year, such as organising:

Complaints, Feedback & Concerns

Many concerns are resolved quickly and easily by discussing the matter directly with the school.  Families are welcome to talk through concerns with their child’s class teacher or the school’s executive team. If you continue to be concerned, please make an appointment to speak to the principal. Parents are always welcome to make an appointment to discuss any concerns with the school principal via the School Front Office.
